The Canine Advancement Center works hand-in-hand with adoption groups to ensure more effective placement into forever homes, while promoting a more positive image of shelter dogs as companion, therapy and service dogs.

Program Objectives

• Work closely with dog adoption groups to find homes for dogs and enhance the adoption process through our value added programs.

• Deliver obedience trained dogs to the community. 

• Provide a network of prison foster homes for dogs including temporary housing.

• Educate the public and raise awareness about rescue dogs as companions, therapy dogs and service dogs.
